RaceConnect App / Live GPS Tracking
The day for the Bergen Mountain Marathon is approaching.
Before you start, we would like to inform you about the following results service and tracking options that we recommend you use.
LIVE results online
All results from the Bergen Mountain Marathon are updated LIVE during the event at this link. Your online diploma and photos will be ready for you immediately after you cross the finish line.
LIVE results on the UltimateLIVE app
Results are available a few seconds after you pass split times/the finish line in the UltimateLIVE app, which can be downloaded for iPhone (via App Store) or Android (via Google Play)
LIVE GPS tracking and extra split times
[EVENTNAME] offers LIVE GPS tracking and extra split times for all participants who wish to share their position during the race and their expected finish time with friends and spectators – via the new RaceConnect app.
If you run with the RaceConnect app (iPhone 6+ and Android 5+ users), you can connect your phone to live tracking.
How to do it:
- Download the RaceConnect app for iPhone (via App Store) or Android (via Google Play)
- Enter your tracker ID
(your tracker ID is personal and must not be shared with others) - Press "Connect Tracker" before you start
(start tracking 2-3 minutes before the race start)
Once you have started tracking, it may be a good idea to put your phone in standby mode to save power. RaceConnect GPS tracking also works as a background task and can run simultaneously with other tracking/fitness apps.
RaceConnect GPS tracking is optimized for a minimum of 12 hours of battery life on a fully charged phone
T-shirt
Pre-ordered t-shirts are distributed along with the bib numbers. Show your SMS with the registration confirmation and t-shirt size.
Resale/Transfer of Bib Number
Rules for Resale of Bib Numbers
Sale and transfer of bib numbers are permitted up to and including May 27, 2027.
Resale of bib numbers occurs exclusively as a private agreement between buyer and seller. Bergen City Marathon is not a party to this transaction and is not responsible for payment, pricing, transfer of money, or any disagreements between the parties.
The organizer only provides the technical solution for changing registration through a voucher code in accordance with current deadlines and terms. It is the seller's responsibility to ensure the correct voucher code is passed on, and the buyer's responsibility to complete the new registration within the applicable deadline.
Bergen City Marathon assumes no responsibility for errors, misuse, or failure to complete a resale, and encourages both parties to ensure clear communication and execution of the agreement before the voucher code is used.
Procedure for Changes and Resale of Bib Numbers
It is possible to resell the bib number up to and including May 27, 2027. If you find someone who wants to take your place, follow this procedure.
NOTE: If you have purchased a t-shirt, it will not be included in the voucher code upon resale, as we cannot guarantee that we have the desired size available for the new participant.
The service costs NOK 100. The voucher covers the registration fee and license.
1. Go to participant login.
Log in with your username and password (sent by email upon registration).
2. Create voucher code
Once logged in, select "Sell/change registration."
A voucher code with the same value as your original registration will be created and sent to you by email. If you have purchased a t-shirt, it will not be included in the voucher code's value.
Once the voucher code is activated, the original user is automatically deactivated.
3. Send the voucher code to the new participant
The new participant uses the voucher code when they make a new registration. If the ticket has become more expensive since you bought it, the new participant must pay the difference.
The new participant enters the voucher code on the same page where the payment method is selected. Any t-shirt (NOK 200) must be paid for by the new participant.
Note:
It is not possible to switch to a distance that is fully booked.
All changes must be completed by May 27.
The value of the voucher code corresponds to the price the original participant paid at registration. If there have been price increases since then, the person taking over must pay the difference.
On race day
Start Time
The Recreational Class is divided into two starting waves with the following start times:
-
Wave 1: 5:00 PM
-
Wave 2: 6:00 PM
The division is based on your expected 10 km time – the higher the time you provide, the earlier your start time will be.
The Competitive Class starts at 7:30 PM.
Once the waves are assigned, it is unfortunately not possible to switch waves, for the safety of all participants.
You will receive an SMS with information about your starting wave and bib number as we approach race day.
The Course
Half Marathon – 21.1 km.
Details about the course can be found here.
The course will be marked with a combination of signs, pennants, and marking tape. It is mandatory to follow the marked course – both for safety reasons and to ensure fair competition. Participants who do not follow the marked course may be given a time penalty or, in serious cases, be disqualified.
The course is available for download on the ut.no app (https://ut.no/turforslag/118267/bergen-fjellmaraton); it is also available for mobile here.
All runners receive a finisher's medal at the finish line at Skansemyren.
Aid Station
An aid station will be organized at Vikinghytten, where water, sports drinks, and chocolate will be available.
Baggage Transport
We organize baggage transport between the start and finish. Participants can drop off one backpack/bag each at the start. Participants are responsible for marking their bag with their name and bib number.
Parking
Parking conditions are difficult at Montana and Skansemyren, so we encourage participants to use public transport to get to the start area. Participants being dropped off at Montana must not drive all the way up to the start area but should be dropped off at Sollien (where the bus stops).
Public Transport
Bus no. 12 (Lægdene-Montana) has the closest stop (Montana) to the start area.
Safety
Parts of the course go through high mountain terrain, and there are therefore some requirements for you as a participant:
Everyone must carry a pack. The following contents are required:
-
- Hydration
-
Windproof/waterproof jacket
- Mobile phone in a waterproof bag
Extra clothing according to weather conditions is recommended!
Everyone must fill out the medical form on the back of the bib before the start.
In case of bad weather
If weather conditions dictate, the race will be held on an alternative course. This is somewhat shortened but has the same start and finish. Participants will be informed by email and in the start area if this becomes necessary. Note that the decision regarding the course may be made close to the start – we ask for your understanding regarding this.
Health and Marshalling
-
Medical personnel will be stationed at Borgaskaret, at Vikinghytten, and in the finish area.
-
There will be marshals at several points from Rundemanen to Fløyen, many with first aid equipment.
-
After the last start, an organizer group will walk through the entire course.
Aid Station and Registration
At Vikinghytten, roughly halfway through the course, you will find a staffed aid station. Split times will also be recorded here to ensure an overview of who has passed.
Important if dropping out
If you have to drop out of the race along the way, you are OBLIGATED to notify the organizer via SMS:
Send: "DNF + bib number" to the duty phone 459 74 501
In case of serious injury or illness, you should first call 113, and then notify the duty phone.
Nature & Drinking Water
Parts of the Bergen Mountain Marathon course go through the catchment area for the city's drinking water. This must be taken into consideration when you are out in nature. These areas are well-signed and show the rules that apply to avoid contamination of the drinking water. See also the municipality's information page on taking care of nature and drinking water sources when hiking.
Environment
We encourage everyone to think about the environment during the event. Large parts of the course go through a protected area. The City Mountains and Section 28 of the Pollution Control Act (prohibition against littering) naturally apply here as well – please do not throw trash in nature. Keep paper and other packaging and dispose of it at the food station or in the finish area.
Time Limit
All participants must have passed Rundemanen by 10:00 PM, regardless of start time and class. The finish line closes at 11:00 PM.
THE TIME LIMIT IN THE COMPETITIVE CLASS IS 3:30. If you are unsure if you can make the time limit, we recommend that you switch to the recreational class.
After the race
Awards
All participants in the Bergen Mountain Marathon receive a drink and a freshly grilled hamburger after finishing.
All participants receive a medal.
Cash prizes for the top three in the women's and men's classes.
1st place: NOK 3,000
2nd place: NOK 2,000
3rd place: NOK 1,000
